I currently have a Finepix S2800HD, which is a bridge, and I wanted to upgrade to a dslr. Should I get:
Sony DSLR-A390Y + DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 + DT 55-200mm F4-5.6 SAM for 559€
or should I get
Nikon D3000 + 18-55mm VR + 55-200mm VR for 549€

@xZacanddania DSLRs below 1 k are all lower end cameras which includes Nikon D3100 & Cannon T3. Doesn’t mean poor qualities or anything; just tells you they don’t have as much advanced options and are designed for beginners to use. BTW, you shouldn’t buy a camera because it “Looks really cool”

@gretchel321 yeaah you’re right. i’ve thought it through cause my cousin is letting me pick between the two. and my choice was Nikon D3000. especially photography is part of the course that im taking right now and since im just a beginner, i’ll go for the Nikon D3000. and SLR’s are what we’re gonna study and use in school anyway.

I want to buy this camera because it looks really cool, but I read stuff like “it shoots really good for a lower end camera” . Do people mean lower end like it is bad quality and worst camera, or do they mean it’s a cheaper camera than others? Someone please help

@signature1990 100% Agree Gordon does a great review on cameras..He does indeed know what he is talking about. He hit the nail on the head when he said about this camera.. It is ideal for a first DSLR camera

@hayLEX0213 Don’t buy a Coolpix p500 when you can save like $150.00 more and buy a SLR camera! If you just want a great zoom plus videos go ahead and buy the coolpix p500 if not, just save more money and buy the Nikon D3000 you wont regret it!
